FTP Instructions
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is the method required when transferring files to P&D. Examples of FTP software are WS_FTP for Windows or Fetch for Macintosh. Some Web browsers also support transferring files. Before transferring files or folders, they must be named with the job number for identification. P&D also recommends compressing any application files, fonts or graphics. Compressing individual files is not necessary if they are post scripted, comma-delimited, tab-separated, ASCII, etc.

Tips for file transfer
Compress folders that contain application files, fonts or graphics before sending (see links below).
Macintosh Users, send all files as raw data.
Windows users, send all files as binary.
If your FTP files are not transferring correctly using either raw data on a Macintosh or binary on Windows, please contact P&D and we will explore other options.
Links
Compressed folders can be created by using programs like Stuffit Deluxe or DropStuff by Aladdin (Macintosh) to create .sit files. On Windows machines, you can use any program that allows you to create .zip files. An example program is WinZip.
